The plight of poor Lucy, a 10-month-old bull Arab pup, was featured in a number of news stories last week. Some low-life scum had brutally beaten Lucy and left her for dead in bushland at Collingwood Park, near Ipswich, last Sunday.

The injuries inflicted on Lucy were horrific – she has a fractured eye socket, a deep gash on her forehead, and a broken leg. But thanks to some quick thinking expert care by the RSPCA, Lucy is on the road to recovery.
Lucy can stand up and take a couple of steps but it will be about six to eight weeks till she is recovered. An incredibly generous public have donated more than $22,000 towards Lucy’s treatment and rehabilitation.

The most surprising thing of all is that Lucy still has the capacity to love humans. A recuperating Lucy is wagging her tail and is happy and friendly to all her carers.
